The Talbot County Board of Commissioners will, hold a Public Hearing, Monday, November 5, 2018 at 6:00 PM, in reference to closing a portion of Fox Run Road. Citizens Panel Meets The Citizens Review Panel for the River Valley Region cre- ated under the Transportation Investment Act of 2012 will meet November 27, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at= the Crisp County Power Commission, 202 South 7th Street, Cordele, Georgia 31015. The purpose of the meeting is to review the progress of projects included in the approved Investment list for the Transportation Special purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST). Food Distribution Feeding the Valley in part- nership will Tri-City Housing Authority will be distributing 300 free food boxes on Monday, November 5th. Registration begins at 8:30 am and boxes are distributed on a first come, first served basis. Feeding the Valley has new forms that must be com- pleted, please look at the bottom of your registration form to make sure it reads for use from October 1, 2018-September 30, 2019. For more information please call 706- 674-2316. 4 Year-Old Survey The Talbot County School district is conducting an interest survey for parent and guardian participation. The district is sur- veying our community to deter- mine if we have a need in the dis- trict to serve more four year olds in the school. We realize that we have limited choices for early learning in our demographic area and want to go beyond the basics for childcare by implementing a curriculum full of educationally enriching activities to prepare children for kindergarten. Fundraiser Nov, 9th The Stephens Masonic Lodge #586 F.&A.M. Manchester, will host a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Friday, November 9th from 5 till 7pm at the mason- ic lodge downstairs dining hall located at 11 E Second St. (across from the 1st Baptist Church).The cost will be $8.00 a plate. The menu will include spaghetti and salad. The proceeds from this fundraiser will be directed to our masonic charities and the sup- port of the lodge. So support us with this please come event. Group Support Trinity United Methodist in Durand is sponsoring a GriefShare support group start- ing Feb. 4. This group will meet Sundays, 4:30-6:30 pm, for 13 weeks. Meetings involve a video- guided presentation by experts in the field of grief and group dis- cussion and support. You also receive a workbook for home devotional and study. All is free. Pancake Breakfast The Flint River Daylight Masonic Lodge of Thomaston will hold its monthly community serv- ice Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, Nov. 3, between 8-11 a.m. at the Masonic Lodge. Donations are accepted to sup- port local charitable causes that are brought before the lodge, and these donations are kept in a sep- arate account. The Lodge is cur- : rently rebuilding its Scholarship Fund to present to a local high school senior upon graduation each spring. The 2019 $1,000 scholarship will be awarded in June.
